Identify the following rhythms:

1.
2.
3.
4.
5.

Answers

1.
Accelerated junctional rhythm

The rhythm is regular with a heart rate of 65/min.  The P waves are not seen.   No ectopic beats are present.   PR:  ---,  QRS:  .08 sec,  QT:  .44 sec.

2.
Atrial fibrillation with slow ventricular response

This rhythm is irregular.   The ventricular rate is 48/min.   No P waves are seen neither are any ectopic beats are observed.   PR:  ---,  QRS:  .08 sec,  QT:  .40 sec.

3.
NSR with 1st degree AV block

The rhythm is regular with a rate of 75/min.   The P waves are upright and precede the QRS complexes.   The PR interval is prolonged.  No ectopic beats are noted.  PR:  .32 sec,  QRS:  .08 sec,  QT:  .36 sec.

4.
NSR with unifocal PVCs and a PAC

The rhythm is irregular due to the ectopic beats.  The heart rate is 96/min. The P waves are positive, uniform and  they are associated with a QRS complex.   Two unifocal PVCs are seen as well as a PAC, the 13th complex.  The P wave of the PAC is hidden with the T wave of the previous complex.  Notice the alteration in the shape and height of the T wave as compared to the other T waves.   PR:  .16 sec,  QRS:  .08 sec,  QT:  .36 sec.

5.
Ventricular paced
The rhythm is slightly irregular with a ventricular rate of 66/min.   No P waves or ectopic beats are seen.   There is a ventricular pacer spike before each QRS complex.   PR:  ---,  QRS:  .16 sec,  QT:  .52 sec.
