Transvenous Pacing

1.Turn on pacemaker

2.Insert bridging cable

3.Adjust rate to prescribed rate- never below the patient’s intrinsic rate

The MD will insert the red electrodes into the transvenous catheter
Insert the electrodes into the bridging cable and secure will roller screws
The proximal electrodes goes to the positive pole of the bridging cable
The MD will test the balloon and apply the protective sleeve

The syringe in the kit should stay with the patient.  Never substitute another syringe should it become lost
The slide clamp on the balloon inflation port slides to the right to close off the port
