7d is coarse AF, not flutter (in flutter the atrial activation is more regular).
ReplyDeleteThank you. This rhythm is somewhere in between a fibrillation and a flutter. It has some of the characteristics of a fibrillation: irregular, irregular rhythm with some fibrillatory waves present. Also there are some characteristics of atrial flutter with some flutter waves present. I have not heard the term coarse atrial fibrillation before but can see how it would apply to this strip. I believe most cardiologist would be in agreement with you and call the rhythm an atrial fibrillation rather than a flutter. Thanks for the input. I will make some changes based upon your observations.
DeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteMy name is Sarah Sherwood, and I am a fourth year medical student in New York. I absolutely love your site and you have some incredible EKGs and rhythm strips. I was wondering if you would mind if I used your Mobitz I rhythm strip in a project I am working on that provides medical students case-based online modules to help teach EKGs.
Thank you again for this wonderful site!
